Obituary of Donald Thomas Fincher
Funeral services for Donald Thomas “Tommy” Fincher, age 72, of Roanoke, will be held on Wednesday, November 15, 2017, at 11:00 AM from Trinity Baptist Church with Pastor Jeff Burns, Bro. Gary Clark, and Bro. Larry McDaniel officiating. Burial will follow at Randolph Memory Gardens with Quattlebaum Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 5:00 PM – 7:00 PM on Tuesday, November 14, 2017.
Mr. Fincher passed away on Monday, November 13, 2017 at his residence.
Survivors include his wife, Marilyn McDaniel Fincher; two daughters, Amy Fincher Moody (Aaron) of Roanoke and Jessica Fincher Elmore (Andrew) of Anniston; one son, Adam Olen Fincher (Regina) of Wedowee; eight grandchildren; and one brother, James Fincher (Nancy) of Roanoke.
Pallbearers will be Mr. Fincher’s grandsons, Tucker Pritchett, Rhett Fetner, Ty Fetner, and Luke Fincher and his nephews, Britt Fincher, AL McDaniel, Jeremy Franklin, and Jody McDaniel.
Mr. Fincher was born in Anniston, AL on December 19, 1944, the son of Theodore Kermit “Jess” Fincher and Irene Carlisle Fincher. He served on several committees at Trinity Baptist Church where he was a member and was formerly a part of Carpenters for Christ. He was preceded in death by his parents.
Mr. Fincher was a former member of the Roanoke Jaycee Club and Kiwanis Club. He was president of the PTA at Knight Enloe Elementary School and of the Randolph County Cattlemen’s Association. Also, he served as a Roanoke City councilman and as a Utilities Board member. Mr. Fincher was a graduate of Leadership Randolph County. He worked in real estate development and had Auto and Mobile Home Sales businesses. Mr. Fincher was also a cattle farmer.
The family will be accepting flowers or requests that donations be made to Trinity Baptist Church (3501 US-431, Roanoke, AL 36274).
