Obituary of Irma Elmira Ricks Davis
Funeral services for Irma Elmira Ricks Davis, age 86, of Roanoke, will be held on Saturday, December 30, 2017, at 3:00 PM from Quattlebaum Funeral Chapel with Rev. Scott Hannah officiating. Burial will follow at Big Springs Baptist Church Cemetery with Quattlebaum Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 1:30 – 3:00 PM prior to services on Saturday.
Mrs. Davis passed away on Tuesday, December 26, 2017 at West Georgia Hospice.
Survivors include three sons, Ricky Davis (Gail) of Kennesaw, GA, Jeff Davis (Betty Jean) of Glenville, NC, and Scot Davis (Lisa) of Roanoke; five grandchildren, Corbin (Dr. Hillary) Davis, Callie (Dr. Nick) Baldwin, Ben Davis, Laura (Lew) Moore, and Stephen (Amanda) Davis; and two great-grandchildren, Henry Elam Moore and Riley Camp Baldwin.
Pallbearers will be Corbin Davis, Stephen Davis, Ben Davis, Lew Moore, Nick Baldwin, and Kenneth Harkness.
Honorary pallbearers will be Larry Altone, Tim Looney, and Bob Nelson.
A Kelleytown, GA native, Mrs. Davis was born on August 15, 1931, the daughter of McDonald Grady and Annie Rilla Smith Ricks. She was a member of Big Springs Baptist Church. Mrs. Davis worked at the accounting office at Atlanta General Depot, Southern Bell Telephone Co., Henry County Schools, City County Hospital, and retired as a librarian from LaGrange College. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Ralph Davis; brother, Gene Ricks; and sisters, Vernice Harkness and Geraldine Hodges.
