Obituary of Eddie Burke

Funeral services for Eddie Burke, age 73, of Rock Mills will be held on Saturday, April 28, 2018, at 2:00 PM from Quattlebaum Funeral Chapel with Rev. Mike Brewer and Rev. Keith Benefield officiating.  Burial will follow at Rock Mills Cemetery.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 5:00-8:00 PM on Friday, April 27, 2018.

Mr. Burke passed away Tuesday, April 24, 2018, at his residence.

Survivors include his wife, Samantha R. Burke of Roanoke; three daughters, Tabatha Rushing of Woodland, Gabby Benefield (Justin) of Woodland, and Melissa Halsey (Stoney) of Roanoke; seven grandchildren; and three brothers, Lamar Hand, Terry Hand, and Richard Hand, all of Rock Mills.

Pallbearers will be Scotty Hand, James Hand, Billy Pike, Jeff Hand, Dale Hand, Chad Bennett, and Eric Hand.  Honorary pallbearers will be Stoney Halsey, Britt Halsey, and Justin Benefield.

A Randolph County native, Mr. Burke was born on September 1, 1944, the son of Willie D. Burke and Ruby Nell Burke Hendrix.  He was a member of Midway Full Gospel Church, worked at Interface as a coder/operator, and loved fishing.  Mr. Burke was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Buddy Burke.
