I am so sorry to hear of Kathy's passing. She and I are cousins; my dad, Travis Burdette and her mom, Nadine Burdette Kirby were brother and sister. Kathy and I saw each other periodically, at Aunt Bill's house and at my grandfather's in LaGrange, and kept up by phone. She had a number of medical challenges in recent years, and I was saddened to hear from another cousin, Glenda Woodham, of Roanoke, of Kathy's death. She was a dedicated nursing professional, and I admired her devotion to her mom, and her beloved dog, Dooley. I will miss her, and am glad to know she will be reunited with Aunt Nadine and Uncle Durward.
