Obituary of Margaret Mozell Hornsby
Funeral service for Margaret Mozell Hornsby, 93, of Newnan, GA, formerly of Valley, Al, will be held on Friday, August 17, 2018 at 11:00 AM from Quattlebaum Funeral Chapel with Rev. Scott Whaley officiating. Burial will follow at Randolph Memory Gardens.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 10:00 to 11:00 AM on Friday morning before services begin.
Miss Hornsby passed away on Tuesday, August 14, 2018 at Newnan Health and Rehab. in Newnan, Georgia.
She is survived by one brother, Herman Hornsby (Wynema) of Woodland, AL, and several nieces and nephews.
A Wedowee native, Miss Hornsby was born on November 26, 1924, the daughter of Stan and Nora Johns Hornsby. She was a member of Oak Grove Church of Christ. Margaret at a very young age moved to Valley, AL, and went to work at West Point Pepperell and retired in 1990 after 45 years of service. Margaret also owned and operated Margaret’s Beauty Shop in New Hope, AL, and one in Lanett, Al. Margaret was a very hard worker and held down two jobs most of her working career. Margaret was very dedicated to her family and loved each and every one of them. She always hosted family holiday gatherings at her home in New Hope, AL, and Newnan, GA, if she was able. Margaret will be truly missed by her family and friends.
Miss Hornsby is proceeded in death by her parents; three brothers, William Bill Hornsby, Robert Hornsby, and Harold Hornsby; and two sisters, Romana Crowder and Vivian Poole.
