Funeral services for Dorothy Ruth Trammell, age 67, of Roanoke will be held on Friday, September 28, 2018, at 1:00 PM at Sword of the Spirit with Rev. Jeffrey Rosser, Rev. Willie Houston, Rev. Gilbert Staples, and Minister Davin Houston officiating.  Burial will follow at Skyview Memorial Gardens with Quattlebaum Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 5:00-8:00 PM on Thursday, September 27, 2018.  Mrs. Trammell will lie in state at the church for one hour prior to services beginning on Friday.

Mrs. Trammell passed away Saturday, September 22, 2018, at her residence.

Survivors include: one daughter, Melissa Trammell of Roanoke; one son, Elbert Trammell of Roanoke; one sister, Maggie Hill (husband, Alfred, Jr.) of Roanoke; and two brothers, David Calloway (wife, Betty) and Curtis Calloway, both of Roanoke.

Pallbearers will be James Nolan, Patrick Nolan, Michael Calloway, Roshell Calloway, Adam Fuller, David Calloway Sr. Flower bearers will be Mrs. Trammell’s nieces and friends.

A Lafayette, Alabama native, Mrs. Trammell was born on October 14, 1950, the daughter of Willie Howard and Mattie Sims Calloway.  She was a member of Sword of the Spirit church and worked in quality control at Plantation Patterns.  Mrs. Trammell was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Elbert Lewis Trammell; and one sister, Hattie Sue Calloway.
