OBITUARY
Funeral services for, Mr. Rufus Taylor Yarbrough, age 97, of Roanoke, will be held at 2:00 pm, Wednesday, May 4, 2011, from the Quattlebaum Funeral Chapel with Rev.Franklin Foster, SR and Rev. Stanley Yarbrough officiating. Burial to follow in Wehadkee Cemetery with Quattlebaum Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
The family will receive friends from 5:00 pm to 8:00 pm at the funeral home on Tuesday, May 3, 2011.
Mr. Yarbrough died May 2, 2011 at his home.
Mr. Yarbrough is survived by his wife of 72 years, Doris Fomby Yarbrough of Roanoke; one daughter, Ronda(husband Harold) Whitaker of Roanoke; three sons, Ray(wife Sherry)Yarbrough of Roanoke, Ted Yarbrough of Roanoke, Render (wife Rita) Yarbrough of Roanoke; one brother Floyd Yarbrough of Roanoke; seven grandchildren, Mandel Yarbrough of Woodland, Shelia Baldwin of Woodland, Tanya Teague of Bowdon Junction, GA, Randy Yarbrough of Wedowee, Chris Wood of LaGrange, GA, Bethany Rosella of Columbus, GA, Britany Walker of Opelika; nine great grandchildren, Timmy Yarbrough, Ashley Yarbrough, Brody Yarbrough, Emilie Brown, Jessica Teague, Josh Teague, Hunter Baldwin, Vanessa Yarbrough, Nick Yarbrough.
Pallbearers will be Randy Yarbrough, Mandel Yarbrough, Andy Rosella, Chris Wood, Clint Yarbrough and Seth Walker.
Mr. Yarbrough was born, February 5, 1914, the son of C. B. and Lillie Maude Johnson Yarbrough. He was a member of the Rock Mills Methodist Church and had been a Textile Creeler for Milliken and Hillside Mills. Mr. Yarbrough loved old Ford Trucks, Nascar Racing and farming. Mr. Yarbrough was preceded in death by his parents; one sister, Mary Nell Thompson; one brother, Wilson Yarbrough; one daughter-in-law, Glenda Yarbrough.
