OBITUARY Funeral services for, Mrs. Kathleen Kitchens, age 87, of Prattville, formerly of Roanoke, will be held at 10:30 am, Monday, May 23, 2011, from the First Baptist Church with Dr. J. Michael Ramage and Rev. Larry Armstrong officiating. Mrs. Kitchens will lie in state one hour before the service at the church. Burial will be at Randolph Memory Gardens with Quattlebaum Funeral Home in charge of arrangements. The family will receive friends from 3:00 pm to 5:00 pm at the funeral home on Sunday, May 22, 2011. Mrs. Kitchens died May 20, 2011 Green Spring's Assisted Living, Prattville, AL. Mrs. Kitchens is survived by one daughter, Cindy (husband Joe) of Prattville; one son, Thomas Oliver (wife Sandra) of Hong Kong; four grandchildren, Babs Turner Whaley of Birmingham, Becky Turner King of Prattville, Holly Kitchens Baquero of LaGrange, GA, McClain Kitchens of New York; seven great grandchildren. Pallbearers will be Jacky Warren, Jimmy McKinney, Wayne Adcock, B. C. Jones, Sam Shelnutt and Mark Lowery.. Mrs. Kitchens was born, October 28, 1923, the daughter of Thomas Holly and Beatrice Bramlett Bishop. She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Roanoke, Philathea Sunday School Class, Silhouette Club and co-owner/secretary of Jack Kitchens Pontiac-Buick. Mrs. Kitchens was preceded in death by her husband, Jack Gordon Kitchens; one son, Jack Gordon Kitchens, Jr; one sister, Dorothy Bishop Benefield; two brothers, Thomas Bishop, Eddie Paul Bishop. Flowers will be accepted or donations can be made to the First Baptist Church or the Lottie Moon offering. Condolences may be expressed at www.quattlebaumfuneralhome.com.
