OBITUARY Funeral services for Margie Nell Herren, age 75, of Woodland, will be held Monday, May 30, 2011, at 3:00 pm from Taylor's Cross Roads Church of Christ with Bro. James McDonald, Bro. Ridley Herren and Bro. Greg Moore officiating. Burial will follow at the adjoining cemetery with Quattlebaum Funeral Home in charge of arrangements. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 3:00 to 8:00 pm on Sunday, May 29th. Mrs. Herren will lie in state at the church for one hour prior to services beginning at 2:00 pm on Monday. Mrs. Herren died Friday, May 27, 2011, at her home. Survivors include her husband, Edward K. Herren of Woodland; two daughters, Susan Bennett (Roger) of Woodland and Lisa Holmes (Jimmy) of Wadley; two sons, Anthony Wayne Herren (Merita) of Roanoke and David Herren of Woodland; one brother, Jimmy Fred Johns of Franklin, Ga.; nine grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. Pallbearers will be Herman Herren, Jerry Herren, Barrett Shelnutt, Ricky Herren, Denson Dunlap and Jay Herren. Honorary pallbearers will be Spencer McCain and Blu Herren. A Randolph County native, Mrs. Herren was born September 5, 1935, daughter of William Cornelius and Annie Bell Scott Johns. She was a member of Taylor's Cross Roads Church of Christ and had retired from Bremen-Bowdon Investment Company. She was preceded in death by her parents; one daughter, June Herren; one son, Eddie Herren; a sister, Sybil Henderson; and a brother, Billy Johns.
