Obituary of Carswell Ogilvie, Jr.
Funeral services for Carswell Ogilvie, Jr., age 72, of Roanoke will be held on Sunday, February 17, 2019, at 2:00 PM at Quattlebaum Funeral Chapel with Bro. Scott Whaley, Bro. Steve Lynn, and Sister Sandie Pike officiating. Burial will follow at Randolph Memory Gardens.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 5:00-8:00 PM on Saturday, February 16, 2019.
Mr. Ogilvie passed away Friday, February 15, 2019, at his residence.
Survivors include his wife, Sarilyn Ogilvie of Roanoke; one daughter, Chanon Ogilvie of Roanoke; one son, Kevin (wife, Tera) Ogilvie of Wadley; five grandchildren, Madalyn D. Ogilvie, Gage Ogilvie, Blaise Ogilvie, Abbi Kate Ogilvie, and Ella Grace Ogilvie; one sister, Etta M. Varnadore (husband, Tommy) of Bickley, GA; and one brother, James M. Ogilivie of Hazelhurst, GA.
Pallbearers will be Gage Ogilvie, Steve Lynn, David Cofield, Roger Strickland, Fred Walker, and Richard Greer. Honorary pallbearers will be members of Roanoke Masonic Lodge #132.
A Hazelhurst, Georgia native, Mr. Ogilvie was born on December 6, 1946, the son of Carswell Ogilvie, Sr., and Elouise Yawn Ogilvie. He was a member of Big Springs Baptist Church and was a retired Assistant plant manager at Amoco Fabrics and Fibers. Mr. Ogilvie was preceded in death by his parents.
