Obituary of Gabriel Turner

Funeral services for Gabriel “Gabe” Turner age 18, of Roanoke, will be held on Thursday, March 14, 2019, at 12:00 noon at Quattlebaum Funeral Chapel with Rev. Bryan Lee Yates, Lori Carlisle and Faith Turner officiating.  

The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 4:00 PM – 7:00 PM on Wednesday, March 13, 2019.

Mr. Turner passed away on Sunday, March 10, 2019, in Roanoke. 

Survivors include his mother, Connie Turner of Roanoke; grandfather, Raymond Abercrombie of Abanda; three sisters, Chrystal Myers (Bryan) of Fayetteville, NC, Tiffany Turner Gaspard (Mikey) of Roanoke, and Faith Turner of Birmingham; one brother, Christopher Michael Shatley (Kayla) of Autryville, NC; nine nephews and one niece.    

A Roanoke native, Mr. Turner was born April 22, 2000, the son of James Avery Turner and Connie Turner.  He was a member of Abanda Baptist Church and was attending Southern Union State Community College.  Mr. Turner loved playing basketball and his PlayStation.  He was preceded in death by his father and grandparents, Irene Abercrombie and Curtis and Juanita Hicks
