Obituary of Emma Lura Browning

Funeral services for Emma Lura Browning, age 89, of Roanoke, AL, will be held on Monday, April 22, 2019, at 3:00 PM at Quattlebaum Funeral Chapel with Bro. Rayford Edmondson officiating.  Burial will follow at Cedarwood Cemetery.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 1:00 – 3:00 PM on Monday, April 22, 2019.

Ms. Browning passed away on Thursday, April 18, 2019, at her home. 

Survivors include one daughter, Lisa Ann Rowe of Roanoke; two sons, Gordon Browning (Jade) of Fredericksburg, TX, and Steve Browning of Corpus Christi, TX; three grandchildren, Jackie Browning, Emily Bradley (Tayler), and Megan Ussery; and three great grandchildren, Christopher Browning, Austin Riel, and Amelia Bradley.   

Pallbearers will be Walter Sudduth, Luke Sudduth, Tommy Rushton, Jamie Broome, Scott Manley and Austin McCray.

A Roanoke native, Ms. Browning was born September 11, 1929, the daughter of Hugh Sudduth and Claude Manley Sudduth.  She was a homemaker.  She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, James Gordon Browning, Sr.; and nine sisters and brothers: Hattie, Audrey, Maggie, Mary, Kate, Walter, James, Tillman and Wyatt.
