Obituary of Rodney Little

Funeral services for Rodney Little, age 70, of Roanoke will be held on Sunday, April 28, 2019, at 2:00 PM at Welcome Home Baptist Church with Bro. Terry Holder and Bro. Harold McCain officiating.  Burial will follow in the adjoining cemetery with Quattlebaum Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 5:00-8:00 PM on Saturday, April 27, 2019.  Mr. Little will lie in state at the church one hour prior to services beginning on Sunday.

Mr. Little passed away Wednesday, April 24, 2019, at Brookwood Baptist Hospital in Birmingham, Alabama. 

Survivors include his wife, Debra Vowell Little of Roanoke; one daughter, Melissa Taylor (Johnny) of Roanoke; two sons, Brett Little of Gainesville, FL, and Rodney Waters (Merry) of Wedowee, AL; eight grandchildren, Devin Taylor (Charla), Shane Taylor (Kenzie), Natalie Little, Ethan Little, Skyler Waters, Riley Mitchell, Joshua Bryant, and Marilyn Fielder; two great-grandchildren, Nolan Taylor and Ava Taylor; one sister, Lynn Devane; and one brother, Dwight Little (Shannon) of Roanoke. 

An Ohio native, Mr. Little was born on August 6, 1948, the son of
Sam and Charlene Patricia Reece Little.  He served as a Marine in the USMC and was retired as a state trooper from the State of Florida. Mr. Little was preceded in death by his parents.
