Obituary of Betty Sue Birdsong Pool
Betty Sue Birdsong Pool, age 89, of Roanoke, passed away on Monday, June 10, 2019, at Arbor Springs Health & Rehab in Opelika.
The family will receive friends at Quattlebaum Funeral Home from 4:00 to 7:00 pm on Tuesday, June 11th. A private graveside service will follow at a later date.
Survivors include two daughters, Susan Elaine Postles of Foley and Sara Jean May of Valley; one sister, Jean Heard of Roanoke; four grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren.
A Glenn, Georgia native, Mrs. Pool was born October 29, 1929, the daughter of Troy and Elizabeth Gay Birdsong. She had retired from Amoco Fabrics & Fibers. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, John Robert Pool; one sister, Frances Smith.
The family suggests memorial contributions to the Randolph County Animal Shelter, 104 Animal Shelter Rd, Wedowee, AL 36278.
