Funeral services for C. Gilbert Marshall, Jr., age 86, of Wadley will be held on Friday, June 14, 2019, at 11:00 AM at Quattlebaum Funeral Chapel with Rev. Mike Nobbley officiating.  Burial will follow at White’s Chapel Cemetery.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 9:00-11:00 AM before services begin.

Mr. Marshall passed away Wednesday, June 12, 2019, at Tanner-East Alabama Medical Center in Wedowee.

Survivors include his wife of 62 years, Juliaette Windsor Marshall of Wadley; one daughter, Cindy Reese (husband, Freddie) of Wadley; one son, Rex Gilbert Marshall, Sr., of Dadeville; eight grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; and two sisters, Marilyn Girardi of New York and Marie Cain of Roanoke.

Pallbearers will be Rex Marshall, Jr., Ryan Marshall, Dean Reese, A. J. Reese, Eric Cummings, Justin Robinson, and Deron Spraddling.  Honorary pallbearers will be Mr. Marshall’s granddaughters and great-grandchildren.

A Roanoke native, Mr. Marshall was born on October 5, 1932, the son of Clarence G. Marshall, Sr., and Mamie Caldwell Marshall.  He was a member of Pleasant Grove Baptist Church, attended White’s Chapel Methodist Church, and was a retired extruder line operator for Amoco Fabrics and Fibers.  Mr. Marshall was preceded in death by his parents.

Memorials may be floral or donations may be made to White’s Chapel Methodist Cemetery.
