Obituary of Thelma Kelley Florence

Funeral services for Thelma Kelley Florence, age 88, of Roanoke will be held on Friday, June 21, 2019, at 2:00 PM at Quattlebaum Funeral Chapel with Sister Carolyn Hanner officiating.  Burial will follow at Cedarwood Cemetery.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 5:00-8:00 PM on Thursday, June 20, 2019. 

Mrs. Florence passed away Wednesday, June 19, 2019, at Gadsden Regional Hospital in Gadsden, Alabama.

Survivors include: three daughters, Brenda Johnson (husband, Kenneth) and Ann Smith (husband, Johnny), both of Roanoke, and Reba Carson (husband, Dan) of Wadley; four grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and one brother, Clyde Kelley of LaGrange, GA.

Pallbearers will be Daniel Carson, Neil Smith, Will Head, Lee Cameron, Gary Boyd, and Ronnie Smith.

A Randolph County native, Mrs. Florence was born on September 24, 1930, the daughter of James Henry and Ivy Doscie McDaniel Kelley.  She was a member of Woodland Church of God and a retired twister at Candlewick.  Mrs. Florence was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, James Dorsey Florence; grandchild, Tennille Smith; sister, Euna Hudson; and brother, Chester Kelley.
