OBITUARY Funeral services for Hermon Grady Edmondson, age 87, of Roanoke, will be held Saturday, July 16, 2011, at 2:00 pm from Faith Baptist Church with Revs. S. T. Janney, Scott Whaley and Bud Stiltner officiating. Burial will follow at Randolph Memory Gardens with Quattlebaum Funeral Home in charge of arrangements. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 5:00 to 8:00 pm on Friday, July 15th. Mr. Edmondson will lie in state at the church for one hour prior to services beginning at 1:00 pm on Saturday. Mr. Edmondson died Wednesday, July 13, 2011, at Wedowee Hospital. Survivors include his wife, Lucille Nolen Edmondson of Roanoke; two daughters, Dorothy Whitlow of Opelika and Jane Overton of Roanoke; six grandchildren; one great-grandchild; several nieces and nephews. Pallbearers will be Sam Stinnett, Paul Sheppard, J. R. Morris, Nathan Sheppard, Tim Broach and Ronnie Smith. Honorary pallbearers will be Larry Sheppard, Mike Vowell, Johnny Smith, James Watson and Dudley Smith. A Wedowee native, Mr. Edmondson was born August 10, 1923, son of John and Florence Perry Edmondson. He was a member of Faith Baptist Church and maintained the grounds there for many years. He had retired from Candlewick Yarns. Mr. Edmondson was preceded in death by his parents; a son, Junior Edmondson; a granddaughter, Pattie Sue Whitlow; two sisters, Lula Sheppard and Mattie Sue Watson; two brothers, Tom Edmondson and Jack Edmondson.
