Memorial services for Jerry Wayne Parmer, age 70, will be held on Sunday, September 1, 2019, at 2:00 PM at Lebanon Christian Church with Rev. Lynn Janney officiating.
Mr. Parmer passed on Saturday, August 24, 2019 at Bethany Hospice in Auburn, AL.
Mr. Parmer is survived by his wife, Cheryl Norred Parmer of Roanoke; his daughter, Paula Parmer Smith (husband, Paul) of Anniston; step daughter, Amy Weaver Mitchell of San Diego, CA; two sons, Danny Parmer (wife, Mary Lou) of Monroeville and Wayne Parmer (wife, Jodi) of Roanoke; 10 grandchildren, and two great-grandchildren; and one sister, Joyce Cole (husband, Steve) of Roanoke.
Mr. Parmer was born on February 21, 1949, the son of Walter Lee and Ruby Weldon Parmer. He was Christian by faith and had served as a deacon at Lebanon Christian Church. He worked at UniRoyal in Opelika for 25 years before opening and operating Parmer’s Farm Supply in Rock Mills for many years before moving the store to Springfield. He was also a member of the Alabama Cattlemen’s Association.
Mr. Parmer was preceded in death by parents and one brother, C.L. Parmer.
