Obituary of Roy Bennett

Funeral services for Roy Bennett, age 74, of Rock Mills will be held on Friday, September 6, 2019, at 3:00 PM at Roanoke Church of Christ with Bro. Gerald Romine officiating.  Burial will follow at Rock Mills Cemetery with Quattlebaum Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.

The family will receive friends at the church from 5:00-8:00 PM on Thursday, September 5, 2019.  Mr. Bennett will lie in state at the church for one hour prior to services beginning on Friday.

Mr. Bennett passed away Wednesday, September 4, 2019, at his residence.

Survivors include his wife, Shirley Bennett of Rock Mills; three sons, Lee Bennett (Michelle) of Wedowee, Chad Bennett (Sabrina) of Roanoke, and Eric Bennett (Sandie) of Rock Mills; five grandchildren; and one brother, Wallace Bennett of Rock Mills.

Pallbearers will be Randy Greason, Peter Billington, Paul Romine, Jamie Heard, John Najmeh, and Robbie Ussery.

A Rock Mills native, Mr. Bennett was born on January 6, 1945, the son of Walt and Carrie Criswell Bennett.  He was a member of Roanoke Church of Christ and worked as an electrician at Wehadkee Mills and was currently working at Nu-MAT in Rock Mills.  Mr. Bennett was preceded in death by his parents; three sisters, Annelle Littlefield, Mary Arrington, and Winnie Johnson; and four brothers, Grover, Willie Joe, Robert, and his twin brother, Ray.
