Obituary of Joel Wallace Blackmon
Funeral services for Joel Wallace Blackmon, age 73, of Woodland, will be held at 1:00 pm on Sunday, September 29, 2019, at Quattlebaum Funeral Chapel with Rev. Anthony Caldwell officiating. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 4:00 to 6:00 pm on Saturday, September 28th.
Mr. Blackmon died Wednesday, September 25, 2019, at Traylor Health and Rehab Center in Roanoke.
Survivors include his nephew, David Hicks of Pell City.
A native of Randolph County, Mr. Blackmon was born May 5, 1946, the son of Claude Willis and Willie Mae Spradlin Blackmon. He worked in the parts department at General Motors and served as a member of the Air Force. He was preceded in death by his parents and one sister, Martha Louise Hicks.
