Funeral services for James Edward “Ed” Sanders, Sr., age 74, of Roanoke will be held on Sunday, November 3, 2019, at 4:30 PM at Faith Baptist Church with Bro. Scott Whaley and Rev. S. T. Janney officiating.  Burial will follow at Randolph Memory Gardens with Quattlebaum Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 5:00-8:00 PM on Saturday, November 2, 2019.

Mr. Sanders passed away Friday, November 1, 2019, at West Georgia Hospice in LaGrange, Georgia.

Survivors include his wife, Tommie May Sanders of Roanoke; two daughters, Jenny Crawford (Todd) and Jessica Sanders (Kevin), both of Roanoke; one son, Eddie Sanders (Nikki) of Rock Mills; four grandchildren, Katherine Crawford, Nathan Sanders, Aidan Sanders, and Caleb Sanders; and one brother, Johnny Sanders (Joyce) of Roanoke.

Pallbearers will be Mike Whaley, Ronald Turner, Chris Cole, Jimmy Whaley, Jimmy Crowell, and Cody Crawford.  Honorary pallbearers will be Stan Whaley, Don Taylor Garfield Clark, Rocky Pemberton, Marshall Wilson, and Joey Truitt.

A Rock Mills native, Mr. Sanders was born on February 17, 1945, the son of John Thomas and Dessa Towler Sanders.  He was a member of Faith Baptist Church and worked as a mechanic for Mohawk Industries.  Mr. Sanders was preceded in death by his parents; his first wife, Wanda Horn Sanders; a daughter, Misty McCullough; and two sisters, Norma Whaley and Annie Lois Sanders. 

Memorials may be floral or donations may be made to West Georgia Hospice at 1510 Vernon Rd, LaGrange, GA 30240.
