Obituary of Paul L Smith

Funeral services for Paul L. Smith, age 58, of Wadley will be held on Thursday, December 12, 2019, at 2:00 PM at Wadley Methodist Church with Bro. Marty Schwartz officiating.  Burial will follow at Wadley City Cemetery with Quattlebaum Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.

The family will receive friends at the church from 12:00-2:00 PM on Thursday before services begin.

Mr. Smith passed away Monday, December 9, 2019, at East Alabama Medical Center in Opelika.

Survivors include his wife, Sandie Smith of Wadley; his four daughters, Debi Elton (Randall) of Opelika, Izzy Hanner (Steed) of Wadley, Madison Smith of Wadley, and Kalyn Smith of Anniston; mother, Ada Jim Smith of Clarkston, MI; five grandchildren, Kaden, Cameron, Kylie, Kenzlee, and Maddox; four sisters, Susan McQuistion (Denny) of Clarkston, MI, Melinda Norris (Rex) of Horseshoe Bay, TX, Kathy Themm (Art) of Oxford, MI, and Gina Eichmann of St. Clair, MI; and one brother, Philip Smith (Laurie) of Pensacola, FL.

Pallbearers will be the members of the Wadley Volunteer Fire Department.

A Michigan native, Mr. Smith was born on June 28, 1961, the son of James E and Ada Jim Thomas Smith.  He was a member of Mountain Springs Baptist Church and worked as an operator at Honda.  Mr. Smith was preceded in death by his father and a sister, Diane Burke.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials be made to Quattlebaum Funeral Home, 319 College St., Roanoke, AL 36274, to go towards final expenses.
