Obituary of Edna Irene Kent Hester

Graveside services for Edna Irene Kent Hester, age 65, will be held on Friday, March 20, 2020, at 11:00 AM at Cedarwood Cemetery with Rev. Shirley Meddick officiating. The family will receive friends at 1207 Lafayette Highway, Roanoke, AL 36274, from 6:00 PM on Wednesday, March 18, 2020, until 10:30 AM on Friday, March 20 before services begin. Mrs. Hester passed away Wednesday, March 18, 2020, at her residence. Survivors include her husband, Jerone Hester of Roanoke; two sons, Jeff Hester (Christena) of Roanoke, and Joey Hester (Ashleigh) of Franklin, GA; grandchildren, Jeffery Hester (Kelsea), Jacob Hester (Kara), Jordan Hester, Donavan Hester (Ashley), and Gray Hester; great-grandchildren, Kailena Wilson and Theo Hester; and two sisters, Ann Moore (Tony) of Woodland and Rebecca West (James) of Brewton, AL. Pallbearers will be Mrs. Hester’s grandsons and Tony Moore. A Foley, Alabama native, Mrs. Hester was born on October 5, 1954, the daughter of Edward and Mary Johnson Kent. She was a member of Lowell United Methodist Church, and she also worked at AMOCO Fabrics and Fibers as well as being a homemaker. Mrs. Hester was preceded in death by her parents and a brother, Clarence Kent.
