Graveside services for Margaret Emily “Peggy” Carden, age 71, of Tallahassee, FL, formerly of Roanoke, will be held on Wednesday, March 25, 2020, at 11:00 AM CST at Randolph Memory Gardens with Rev. Danny Lewis officiating and Quattlebaum Funeral Home in charge of arrangements. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 5:00-8:00 PM CST on Tuesday, March 24, 2020. Mrs. Carden passed away Monday, March 23, 2020. Survivors include: three daughters, Teresa Carden Armstrong (Robert) of Wadley, Mary Carden Lewis (Danny) of St. Petersburg, FL, and Ali Carden Sackett (Walter) of Tallahassee, FL; three sons, Walt Carden (Brandy) and Sloan Carden, both of Roanoke, and Jess Carden of Sylacauga; 11 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; three sisters, Lynn Robertson of Roanoke, Beth Strohm (Frank) of Valley, and Babs Hester (Don) of Roanoke; and one brother, Harold Lamp of Carlisle, PA. Pallbearers will be Reid Carden, Gavin Lipham, Don Hester, Gabe Hester, Justin Causey, and Joshua Davis. A Baltimore, Maryland native, Mrs. Carden was born on September 21, 1948, the daughter of Roger Harold and Margaret Harlin Botsford. She was Baptist by faith and worked as a seamstress. Mrs. Carden was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Frank Carden; and brother, Harry Botsford.
