Wayne Smith, 66, of Woodland passed away Wednesday, April 29, 2020, at his residence.
Survivors include his wife of 49 years, Charlotte Yvonne Smith; one daughter, Carrie Smith (Brandon); two sons, Chris Smith (Charlotte) and Chad Smith; six grandchildren, Dylan Smith, Matt Brewer (Angel), Cera Brewer, Jacob Smith, Joseph Smith, and Savannah Smith; two great-grandchildren, Brantley Brewer and Shiloh Poche; and one sister, Debra Smith Willingham (Wade).
Honorary pallbearers will be Matthew Brewer, Dylan Smith, Travis Dutton, Cera Brewer, Chadarius Parker, and Wade Willingham.
A Roanoke native, Mr. Smith was born on August 20, 1953, the son of Calvin James and Allie Ruth Madden Smith. He was a member of Woodland First Congregational Methodist Church and worked as a supervisor for Randolph County Solid Waste for a number of years and a pulpwooder in his earlier years. Mr. Smith was preceded in death by his parents.
A private memorial service will be held.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Quattlebaum Funeral Home for final expenses.
