Obituary of Lucy Bonner

Graveside services for Lucy Bonner, 75, of Roanoke will be held on Saturday, May 2, 2020, at 3:00 PM at Randolph Memory Gardens with Pastor Darren White officiating and Quattlebaum Funeral Home in charge of arrangements. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 1:00-2:45 PM on Saturday before services begin. Mrs. Bonner passed away Thursday, April 30, 2020, at Grandview Medical Center in Birmingham, Alabama. Survivors include: one daughter, Karen White (Ronald), and two grandchildren, Megan Daly (Tyler) and Ryan White. Pallbearers will be Danny Cotney, Ben George, Whit Bonner, Joseph Gibbs, Ryan White, and Tyler Daly. A Roanoke native, Mrs. Bonner was born on January 30, 1945, the daughter of Grady and Dera Stevens George. She was a member of Trinity Baptist Church and worked for Mary Messer’s Flower Shop for 30 years. Mrs. Bonner was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Gerson J. Bonner; and two brothers, Pete George and Carey George. Memorials may be floral or donations may be made to the Randolph County Learning Center at P.O. Box 127, Roanoke, AL 36274.
