Graveside services for Brandon Reed Rushton, age 10, of Roanoke will be held on Monday, May 4, 2020, at 2:00 PM at Randolph Memory Gardens with Bro. Danny Lewis and Bro. Eric Lester officiating and Quattlebaum Funeral Home in charge of arrangements. Brandon passed away Thursday, April 30, 2020. Survivors include his parents, Kenny Rushton of Roanoke and Jacke Cummings (Matthew) of Roanoke; paternal grandparents, Ronnie and Debbie Rushton of Rock Mills; maternal grandparents, Teresa Armstrong of Wadley and Chuck Johnson of Wedowee; stepgrandparents, Tim and Jennifer Kirby of Roanoke and Randy and Luana Cummings of Ephesus, GA; and four sisters, Kennidy Rushton and Taylor Cummings, both of Roanoke and Addisyn Cummings and Annsley Cummings of Glenn, GA. Pallbearers will be Bradley Rushton, Klayton Rushton, Don Hester, Justin Causey, Gabe Hester, Kobe Rushton, and Kyle Lester. Honorary pallbearers will be Christian Estes, Zeke Holliday, Braden Mitchell, Trent Johnson, Timothy Holliday, Kayden Clanton, and Reid Carden. A lifelong Roanoke resident, Brandon was born in Valley, Alabama, on March 28, 2010, the son of Kennon Rushton and Jacqualine Johnson Cummings. He was a member of Community Life Church and a fourth grader at Handley Middle School. Brandon loved being outdoors playing with his dogs, playing ball, and riding his buggy and he loved playing video games. He adored his sisters and left everyone he knew with a smile because of his hilarious sense of humor and big personality. Brandon was preceded in death by his great-grandparents, James and Tommie Laws and Peggy and Frank Carden, Elizabeth and Charlie Fred Johnson, and Rufus Rushton and Ruby Scott. Memorials may be floral or donations may be made to the Brandon Rushton Memorial Scholarship Fund c/o Quattlebaum Funeral Home, 319 College Street, Roanoke, AL 36274.
