Graveside services for Lena Mae Mulkey Barnes, 94, of Five Points, will be held on Saturday, June 6, 2020, at 2:00 PM at Heritage Baptist Cemetery with Rev. Steve Langley officiating and Quattlebaum Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
Mrs. Barnes passed away Friday, June 5, 2020, at Traylor’s Nursing Center.
Survivors include: two daughters, Martha Nix (husband, Harlin) of Five Points and Earnestine Weaver (husband, Don) of Clayton; four grandchildren, Wanda Koch of Five Points, Rhonda Martin (Scott) of Five Points, Tim Weaver (Tara) of Troy, and Kellie Kelley (Mark) of Elba; two great-grandchildren, Allan Martin (Kaydra) and Ashley Harper (Dylan); one great-great-grandchild, Asher Martin; and two step-grandchildren, Carley Weaver and Kaylen Weaver.
A Randolph County native, Mrs. Barnes was born on March 9, 1926, the daughter of William Cleveland and Hudley Jane Osborne Mulkey. She was a member of Bethel Baptist Church and worked as a spinner for Handley Mills. Mrs. Barnes was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Earnest Barnes; one daughter, Dena Jane Barnes; three sisters, Jean McDaniel, Virginia Brown, and Lillian Yates; and four brothers, Leslie, Gervis, John, and Wallace Mulkey.
