Please share a memory of Janice to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
OBITUARY Roanoke --Graveside services for, Janice D. Meeks, will be at Meeks Family Cemetary in the Wehadkee community with son and pastor Dennis Meeks and pastor Scott Whaley officiating. She was a long-time resident of the Wehadkee community and went home to be with the Lord on September 15, 2011 at her home. She was 66 years old. Born in Hogansville, GA on July 29, 1945 to John Henry and Eva Dunn, Janice took dancing classes, competed in beauty contests, and attended school at LaGrange High School. She accepted Christ as her savior at the age of 13 and has served the Lord all her life. Janice worked most of her life at Milliken, but she retired from LaGrange Plastics. Janice loved her family. She loved being at home. One of her special gifts was cooking. She could cook anything, but her biscuits were superior to all others. Janice knew how to make people feel at home. No strangers came through her door. If you were not family, you were a friend to Janice. She had an ability to comfort people when they were down. Her smile would lighten any burden. She is survived by her husband, Milford Meeks; a daughter, Priscilla (Ronnie) Booth; two sons, Dennis (Mickey) Meeks, Michael (Janice) Meeks all of Roanoke; 9 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren; a sister Reba (Robert) Howard, 2 nieces, 1 nephew, and numerous cousins. Janice was preceded in death by her Father and Mother; David, a brother. Mrs. Meeks' family wishes to express their heart felt gratitude and appreciation for all of the prayers given and love shown to us by friends, neighbors, and caregivers. Quattlebaum Funeral Home has been entrusted with all arrangements.
