OBITUARY Funeral services for, Mr. William Wesley Walker, age 76, of Auburn, formerly of Roanoke and Fort Lauderdale, Florida, will be held at 2:00 pm Sunday, September 25, 2011, from the Big Springs Baptist Church with Rev. Scott Whaley officiating. Burial to follow in the adjoining church cemetery with Quattlebaum Funeral Home in charge of arrangements. The family will receive friends from 1:00 pm to 2:00 pm at the church on Sunday, September 25, 2011. Mr. Walker died Wednesday, September 21, 2011 at Bethany House in Auburn. Mr. Walker is survived by three sons, William Wesley Walker, JR of Columbiana, AL, Keith Walker of Montgomery, Michael Walker of Auburn; three grandchildren, Evan and Sydney Walker of Montgomery, Annika Walker of Columbiana, AL; two sisters, Jettie Walker Powell of Tallahassee, FL, Nell Walker Darroch of Arlington, TX; one brother, Ben Walker of Marietta, GA. Pallbearers will be Evan Walker, Tyler Walker Brown, William (Bill) Darroch, Vance William Brown, Todd Allen Darroch, Garrett Amzi Brown. Honorary pallbearers will be Barrett Shelnutt, Jimmy Gay, Mark Awbrey, Don Green, and Harold Wilson. Mr. Walker was born, December 3, 1934, the son of James Burl and Minnie Bowen Walker. He had worked as an electrician for A T & T and Lucent Technologies. Mr. Walker was preceded in death by his wife, Patricia Anne Hoffman Walker who died June 25, 2011, and had been the owner of Patty's Pastimes; his parents; one sister, Judy Walker Bates; two brothers, Hollis and Jimmy Walker; and twin girls.
