                                                                                OBITUARY

William “Billy” Donald Vinson, Jr., age 68, of Opelika, formerly of Roanoke, passed away July 24, 2020. The family will have a private funeral service with Bro. Jamie Taylor, Mrs. Bonnie Sue Knight, Mrs. Cindy Norred, and Mrs. Sherry Everett officiating. Burial will follow in Cedarwood Cemetery.

Survivors include one sister, Debbie (husband, Donnie) Cash of Opelika; two brothers, David (wife, Cindi) Vinson of Gulf Shores, AL and Mike (wife, Melissa) of Hazelhurst, GA; and several loving nieces and nephews.

Pallbearers will be Gerry Knight, Shane Everett, Josh Everett, Mario Houston, and Nick Norred.

A Langdale, AL native, Billy was born January 7, 1952, the son of William Donald, Sr. and Margaret Bailey Vinson. He was Christian by faith and had attended Lowell United Methodist Church as well as Roanoke First United Methodist Church. Billy was a huge fan of Alabama football and Elvis Presley. He loved his family and enjoyed talking to each of them on the telephone, especially on their birthdays. Billy was truly a special person who made a positive impact on everyone he met. Billy was preceded in death by his parents.

In lieu of flowers the family requests donations be made to the Randolph County Learning Center in Billy’s memory. Donations may be mailed to Randolph Co. Learning Center, P.O. Box 127, Roanoke, AL, 36274.
