Obituary of Thomas "June" Waldrep

Graveside services for Thomas “June” Waldrep, age 88, of Wadley will be held on Thursday, August 6, 2020, at 11:00 AM at Pleasant Grove Baptist Church at Broughton with Rev. Billy Allen officiating and Quattlebaum Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 5:00-8:00 PM on Wednesday, August 5, 2020.

Mr. Waldrep passed away Sunday, August 2, 2020, at Tanner-East Alabama Medical Center in Wedowee.

Survivors include his wife, Opal Waldrep of Wadley; one sister, Melba Waldrep; and several nieces and nephews.

Pallbearers will be Thomas Waldrep, Michael Goss, Pat Waldrep, David Windsor, Kimberly Waldrep, and Lance Garrett.

A Wadley native, Mr. Waldrep was born on August 26, 1931, the son of Robert Lesley and Lee Ella Bassett Waldrep.  He was a member of Pleasant Grove Baptist Church at Broughton and was a United States Army veteran of the Korean conflict.  Mr. Waldrep worked for the Randolph County Road Department, served as a Randolph County Commissioner for 16 years, and was a member of the Level Road Masonic Lodge.  He was preceded in death by his parents; five brothers, Herbert, J. W., Ford, Fred, and Robert Waldrep; and two sisters, Annie White and IvaLee Jones.

Memorials may be floral or donations may be made to the Pleasant Grove Baptist Church at Broughton.
