Obituary of Rhonda Gail Ashworth

Funeral services for Rhonda Gail Ashworth, age 55, of Wedowee will be held on Saturday, August 8, 2020, at 2:00 PM at Living Waters Bible Church with Rev. Chuck Potts, Rev. Steve Bryan, Rev. Keith Benefield, and Rev. Jonathan Hannah officiating.  Burial will follow at Forrester’s Chapel Cemetery with Quattlebaum Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 5:00-8:00 PM on Friday, August 7, 2020.  Mrs. Ashworth will lie in state at the church for one hour prior to services beginning on Saturday.

Mrs. Ashworth passed away Tuesday, August 4, 2020, at her residence.

Survivors include her husband, Alton Ashworth; two daughters, Roxanne Brown of Wedowee and Jessica Watts (Jimmy) of Wadley; one son,  Oakley Brown of Roanoke; step-grandchildren, Kristen Watts and Shawn Watts; step-mother, Rosa Lee Brown of Wedowee; two sisters, Monica Ballenger of Wedowee and Tonya McDowell (Donnie) of Roanoke; two nieces, Sara Scott (Dallas) and Emily Cook; one nephew, Alex Cook; two Godchildren, Isabella Hodges (TayTay) and Destiny Hodges; special friend, Leslie Bryan of Roanoke; and two great-nieces and a great-nephew.

Pallbearers will be Jeff Baker, Mike McCormick, Hoyt Pinkard, Wayne Boggs, Justin Baggatt, and Dusty Moore.  Honorary pallbearers will be Phoenix Scott and Alex Cook.

A Wedowee native, Mrs. Ashworth was born on June 25, 1965, the daughter of Clarence Brown and Betty Treadwell.  She was a member of Living Waters Bible Church where she served as youth director and was a housewife.  Mrs. Ashworth was preceded in death by her parents and her grandparents, Harold and Thelma Treadwell and Herman and Mattie Brown.
