Obituary of Charles Stephen Hodge

Funeral services for Charles Stephen “Steve” Hodge, age 62, of Roanoke will be held on Monday, August 10, 2020, at 2:00 PM at Quattlebaum Funeral Chapel with Rev. Greg Norred officiating.  Burial will follow at Wehadkee Cemetery with Quattlebaum Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 5:00-7:00 PM on Sunday, August 9, 2020. 

Mr. Hodge passed away Saturday, August 8, 2020, at his residence.

Survivors include his daughters, Kim Burks (Ken) of Roanoke and Heather Noffsinger also of Roanoke; a son, Wayne Hodge of Rock Mills; two sisters, Nadine Bennett (Ted) of Rock Mills and Denise Kirby (Kenneth) also of Rock Mills; seven grandchildren, Klay Burks, Kaylor Burks, Sofia Noffsinger, Kolby Hodge, Kiley Hodge, Kinsley Hodge, and Sidney Hodge.

Pallbearers will be Klay Burks, Eric Bennett, Glenn Hill, Scotty Kirby, Kiley Hodge, Evan Pike, Kolby Hodge, and Larry Bailey.

A Randolph county native, Mr. Hodge was born on January 8, 1958, the son of Charles Austin and Christine Norred Hodge. He was Christian by faith and had been self-employed as a contractor where he worked as a mill wright, construction worker, mason, and taxidermist. Mr. Hodge loved the outdoors and especially enjoyed his time hunting and fishing. Mr. Hodge was preceded in death by his parents; a son, Jesse Hodge and a brother, Robert Shane Hodge.

Memorials may be floral, the family would prefer donations be made to Quattlebaum Funeral Home to help with final expenses.
