Obituary of Wanda Darlene Smith

Graveside services for Wanda Darlene Shirey Smith, age 62, of Roanoke will be held on Sunday, September 6, 2020, at 3:00 PM at Randolph Memory Gardens with Bro. Billy Allen and Bro. Caleb Bridwell officiating and Quattlebaum Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.

Mrs. Smith passed away Friday, September 4, 2020, at Tanner-East Alabama Medical Center in Wedowee, Alabama.

Survivors include her husband, Danny Smith of Roanoke; one daughter, April Walker (Kevin) of Roanoke; one son, Chuck Bonner (Kristen) of Wadley; her mother, Elvielene Huey Shirey; two grandchildren, Austin Walker and Kyla Walker; and two sisters, Rhonda Forman (Mike) of Roanoke and Sondra Key (Larry) of Valley.

Pallbearers will be Anthony Key, Mike Taylor, Chris Taylor, Kevin Forman, Doug Moore, and Zack Moore.

A Heard County, Georgia native, Mrs. Smith was born on October 29, 1957, the daughter of Charles Edward and Elvielene Huey Shirey.  She was a member of Rock Mills Baptist Church and worked at Candlewick Yarns.  She was most happy when taking care of her family and especially loved spending time with her grandkids.  Mrs. Smith was preceded in death by her father, Charles Edward Shirey; a grandson, Bryant; and sister, Denise Taylor.
