Funeral services for Rubie Ollice Mitchell Cole, 95, of Roanoke will be held on Saturday, September 19, 2020, at 11:00 AM at Quattlebaum Funeral Chapel with Bro. Charles Fetner and Bro. Scott Whaley officiating.  Burial will follow at Cedarwood Cemetery.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 5:00-8:00 PM on Friday, September 18, 2020.

Mrs. Cole passed away Tuesday, September 15, 2020, at Traylor’s Nursing Center.

Survivors include: one son, Barry Cole of Roanoke; four grandchildren, Chris Cole of Carrollton, GA, Robin Akin (Al) of Bremen, GA, Lindsay Averett (Steven) of Decatur, GA, and Joshua Cole (Kara) of Newnan, GA; and nine great-grandchildren, Kelsie Akin, Hannah Akin, Eli Akin, Finn Averett, Jude Averett, Maren Averett, Grady Averett, Ira Cole, and Harvey Cole.

Pallbearers will be Junior Brown, Gene Jackson, Pete Mitchell, Bill Prestridge, Al Akin, and Frank Cole.

A Woodland native, Mrs. Cole was born on April 26, 1925, the daughter of Malcus and Rebecca Smith Mitchell.  She was a member of Liberty East Baptist Church and worked as a production supervisor for 25 years at Playtex.  Mrs. Cole was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Willie Jackson Cole; sisters, Janie Martin, Susie Moore, Charlotte Horn, Becky Prescott, Gail Nichols, and Alphie Brown; and brothers, David Mitchell, John Mitchell, Manley Mitchell, and Earl Mitchell.
