OBITUARY
Graveside services for, Mr. Herman Awbrey Garrett, age 88, of Roanoke, will be held at 10:30 am, Friday, October 21, 2011, from the Randolph Memory Gardens with Rev. Harold Bonner officiating. Quattlebaum Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
Mr. Garrett died Tuesday, October 18th at Wedowee Hospital.
Mr. Garrett is survived by one daughter, Linda (husband Pat) Awbrey of Roanoke; two grandchildren, Patrick and Patrice Awbrey; one sister, Ruby Hodnett of Roanoke; Jarrell Garrett of Roanoke; dear friend, Gerry Burke.
Mr. Garrett was born, December 3, 1922, the son of Reuben and Annie Slay Garrett. He was of the Methodist faith, worked in maintenance for Transco, and was a member of the Roanoke Masonic Lodge. Mr. Garrett was preceded in death by his wife, Willie Mae Garrett; his parents; one son, Awbrey Garrett; one sister, Lera Bolt.
