Graveside services for, Mr. Joe Will Kirby, age 74, of Roanoke, will be held 11:00 am, Wednesday, October 26, 2011, from the Cedarwood Cemetery with officiating. Quattlebaum Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
The family will receive friends from 5:00 to 8:00 pm at the funeral home on Tuesday, October 25, 2011.
Mr. Kirby died Monday, October 24, 2011 at Bethany House in Auburn, Al.
Pallbearers will be David Mitchell,Richard Kirby, James E. Boyd, Ben Beaird, and David Cummings.
Mr. Kirby is survived by one daughter, Shelia (husband Bobby) Boyd of Roanoke; two sisters, Ann Gabriel of Roanoke, Sylvia Mitchell of Roanoke; one brother Berle Kirby of Bay Minnette , and one grandchild Valarie Boyd of Roanoke.
Mr. Kirby was born January 20, 1937, the son of Curtis Dewey and Katie Ferrell Kirby. He was a self employed painter. Mr. Kirby was preceded in death by his wife Verma White Kirby, his parents, two brothers Henry Alais Kirby and Todd Lester Kirby, and one sister Merle Boyd. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Cancer Society.
