Obituary of Pernell McDaniel

Funeral services for Pernell Ray McDaniel, age 84, of Roanoke will be held on Saturday, October 24, 2020, at 1:00 PM at Quattlebaum Funeral Chapel with Bro. Keith Benefield officiating.  Burial will follow at Potash Cemetery.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 12:00-1:00 PM on Saturday before services begin.

Mr. McDaniel passed away Thursday, October 22, 2020, at his residence.

Survivors include a host of nieces and nephews.

Pallbearers will be Danny Nelson, Kip Sims, Thomas Nimon, Koy Sims, Chandler New, C. J. New, and Nick Nimon.

A Roanoke native, Mr. McDaniel was born on February 3, 1936, the son of John Wesley and Hattie Hale McDaniel.  He was a member of Welcome Home Baptist Church and was a cattle and crop farmer. Mr. McDaniel was preceded in death by his parents; his first wife, Gladys McDaniel; his second wife, Helen McDaniel; two sisters, Irene Bowen and Mindy Spears; and four brothers, Jewell, Curtis, Garfield, and R. C. McDaniel.
