Obituary of Sanford Glover Holloway

Funeral services for Sanford Glover Holloway, age 85, of Woodland will be held on Monday, November 9, 2020, at 1:00 PM CST at Bethel East Baptist Church with Bro. Keith Runels officiating.  Burial will follow in the adjoining cemetery with Quattlebaum Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 4:00-7:00 PM on Sunday, November 8, 2020.  Mr. Holloway will lie in state at the church for one hour prior to services beginning on Monday.

Mr. Holloway passed away Friday, November 6, 2020, at Grady Memorial Hospital in Atlanta.

Survivors include his wife, Linda Jane Holloway; two sisters, Ima Jean Caldwell of Heflin and Jelima Adamson (Jimmy) of Lineville; and two brothers, Buddy Holloway (Mary Jane) of Woodland and Carey Holloway (Ellen) of Rock Mills.  

Pallbearers will be Casey Tracey, Roger Maddox, Joe Dearing, Matt Hill, and Jay Herren.  Honorary pallbearer will be Tracey Eason.

A Randolph County native, Mr. Holloway was born on October 19, 1935, the son of Newman Horice and Bertha May Harmon Holloway.  He was a member of Bethel East Baptist Church and worked as a winder at Handley Mills and retired from Randolph County as a motorgrader and dump truck operator. Mr. Holloway was preceded in death by his parents and three brothers, Wallace, Jackie, and Aaron Marion Holloway.
