Obituary of Bobby Edward McBrayer

Graveside services for Bobby Edward McBrayer, age 72, of Roanoke will be held on Tuesday, November 24, 2020, at 2:00 PM at Randolph Memory Gardens with Rev. Chris Martin officiating and Quattlebaum Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 12:30-1:45 PM on Tuesday before services begin.

Mr. McBrayer passed away Sunday, November 22, 2020, at UAB West in Bessemer.

Survivors include his wife, Melnee McBrayer of Roanoke and two daughters, Sandy McBrayer of Roanoke and Melonie McBrayer of Birmingham.

A Leeds, Alabama native, Mr. McBrayer was born on March 14, 1948, the son of John Lewis and Nellie Myrtice Steed McBrayer.  He was a member of Roanoke First United Methodist Church and was a United States Marine Corp veteran of the Vietnam conflict.  Mr. McBrayer retired in law enforcement from 25 plus years as a sheriff’s deputy for Randolph County and a police officer.  He enjoyed fishing and hunting in his free time.  Mr. McBrayer was preceded in death by his parents; son, Micha Robert McBrayer; and four siblings.
