Obituary of Charles L. Scott

A private family memorial will be held at a later date for Charles L. “C.L.” Scott, age 76, of Roanoke. 

Mr. Scott passed away Sunday, November 22, 2020, at his residence. 

Survivors include his wife, Patricia W. Grant Scott of Roanoke; two step-daughters, Deborah Jordan and Carolyn Barth; son, Robert Scott of Roanoke, seven grandchildren; and several great-grandchildren; and one sister, Sue Perry (Bobby) of Roanoke.

A Randolph County native, Mr. Scott was born on August 13, 1944, the son of Robert Louis and Julie Brown Scott.  He was a member of Big Springs Baptist Church and was a mechanic most of his life.  Mr. Scott loved working on heavy equipment and tractors.  He also loved his animals.  Everyone who knew him loved him, and he loved everyone he met.  Mr. Scott loved to talk and was good-hearted and kind. Mr. Scott was preceded in death by his parents; son, Christopher James Scott and stepson, Paul Douglas Tomczek. 

The family would like to especially thank Dr. Shirah, Compassus Hospice and all the good friends who helped in any way.
