Obituary of Peggy Sue Hudson

Graveside services for Peggy Sue Hudson, age 88 of Five Points, AL, will be held on Thursday, January 28, 2021, at 3:00 PM at Standing Rock UMC Cemetery with Bro. Tim Calloway officiating and Quattlebaum Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.

Mrs. Hudson went to meet her Lord on Tuesday, January 26, 2021.

Survivors include: six children, Thomas Hudson, Debra Hudson, Jimmy Hudson, Jenny Hudson, mike Hudson, and Peggy Green, all of Standing Rock; grandchildren, Monica, Mitzi, Mitchell, Jason, Mark, Lindsy, Caroline, Hunter, Jeffery; 15 great-grandchildren; 9 great-great-grandchildren and still counting; two sisters, Carline Kline and Janette Smith; brother, Virgil Gore; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Pallbearers will be Timothy Yarbrough, Jason Hudson, Jonathan Tyson, Mitchell Hudson, Chad Brooks, and Will Ellis.

A Sand Mountain, Alabama native, Mrs. Hudson was born on May 12, 1932, the daughter of William and Lula Mae Ruckert.  She was a member of Standing Rock United Methodist Church and worked for the Troup County School System in the cafeteria.  Mrs. Hudson also worked as a polling official in Standing Rock for 30 years.  She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Garvis Hudson; son, Harry Hudson; loving granddaughter, Michelle Green; daughter-in-law, Landy; son-in-law, Murray Green; grandson, Richard Kelly; and sisters, Lois Turner and Lorene Foster.
