Obituary of Martha Ann Bowen Jeter
Funeral services for Martha Ann Bowen Jeter, age 80, of Roanoke will be held on Friday, March 5, 2021, at 2:00 PM at Quattlebaum Funeral Chapel with Sister Shirley Meddick officiating. Burial will follow at Randolph Memory Gardens.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 5:00-8:00 PM on Thursday, March 4, 2021.
Mrs. Jeter passed away Tuesday, March 2, 2021, at her residence.
Survivors include: two daughters, Lisa Harper (Greg) and Dana Jeter, both of Roanoke; one son, David Jeter (Faye) of Roanoke; three grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; one sister, Barbara Hester of May, TX; and one brother, Tony Bowen of Las Vegas, NV.
Pallbearers will be Bryant Thrower, Andrew Thrower, Casey Shelnutt, Jason Thrower, Chad Green, and Shannon Shelnutt.
A Chambers County native, Mrs. Jeter was born on February 22, 1941, the daughter of Hoyt Bowen, Sr., and Etha Mae Langley Bowen. She was a member of Lowell United Methodist Church and worked as a sales clerk at Welch Service Station. Mrs. Jeter was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Cleo Bruce Jeter; sons, Richard Paul Jeter and Nicky Jeter; sisters, Sherry Bowen and Sandra Christopher; and brother, Hoyt Bowen, Jr.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Quattlebaum Funeral Home to go toward final expenses.
