Obituary of Johanna Stewart Bennett

Funeral services for Johanna Stewart Bennett, age 81, of Roanoke will be held on Friday, March 12, 2021, at 2:00 PM at Quattlebaum Funeral Chapel with Rev. Chuck Potts officiating.  Burial will follow at Randolph Memory Gardens.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 1:00-2:00 PM on Friday before services begin.

Mrs. Bennett passed away Wednesday, March 10, 2021, at Traylor’s Nursing Center.

Survivors include: one daughter, Tammy Farr (Ricky) of Wedowee; one son, Timmy Bennett of Bainbridge, GA; three grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; and two brothers, Robert Stewart of Roanoke and Sam Stewart of Virginia.

Pallbearers will be Jacky Potts, Mike Potts, Chris Potts, Joe Potts, Craig Calhoun, and Nick Potts.

A Roanoke native, Mrs. Bennett was born on May 22, 1939, the daughter of Whit and Vera Nunn Stewart.  She was a member of Rock Mills Baptist Church and worked as a seamstress for Playtex.  Mrs. Bennett was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, James Monroe Bennett; and five sisters.
