Obituary of James E. Boyd

Funeral services for James E. Boyd, age 76, of Roanoke, will be held at 2:00 pm on Monday, March 29, 2021, at Quattlebaum Funeral Chapel with Bro. Keith Benefield and Bro. Anthony Caldwell officiating.  Burial will follow at Randolph Memory Gardens.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 12:00 to 2:00 pm on Monday, March 29.

Mr. Boyd passed away on Saturday, March 27, 2021, at his home.

Survivors include his son, Danny James Boyd of Roanoke; special caregiver, Delilah Gabriel of Roanoke and special nieces and nephews. 

Pallbearers will be Robert Sims, Robbie Ussery, Mathew Mitchell, Taylor Mitchell, Zackary Caldwell, Gaven Caldwell, Marty Ivey and Wayne Edmondson. David Mitchell will serve as an honorary pallbearer.

A Randolph County native, Mr. Boyd was born July 4, 1944, the son of Joe and Winnie Mae Noles Boyd. He was a mechanic/fixer for Wehadkee Yarn Mills. He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Merle A. Boyd; and one sister, Hazel Noles.
