Obituary of Joyce Bowen Gibson

Funeral services for Joyce Bowen Gibson, age 86, of Eastaboga, AL, will be held on Saturday, April 17, 2021, at 2:00 PM at Quattlebaum Funeral Chapel with Bro. Mike Newton officiating. Burial will follow at East Napoleon Church of Christ Cemetery. 

The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 12:30-2:00 PM on Saturday before services begin.

Mrs. Gibson passed away Wednesday, April 14, 2021, at Traylor’s Nursing Center in Roanoke.

Survivors include: two sisters, Wilma Newton of Union City, GA, and Charlotte Wills of Eastaboga, AL, and a host of nieces and nephews.

Pallbearers will be Todd Cofield, Brian Cofield, Jeff Keeble, Robby Keeble, Curtis Burch, and Willie Burch.

A Randolph County native, Mrs. Gibson was born on August 18, 1934, the daughter of Arthur D. and Ethel Brown Bowen.  She was Methodist by faith and worked as a utility operator for Equitable Paper Bag Company.  Mrs. Gibson was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Frank Gibson; infant son, Joey Gibson; sisters, Myrtie Lou Mitchell, Bonnelle Keeble, and Glennis Rhodes; and brothers, Lowell Bowen, John Bowen, and Garry Bowen.
