OBITUARY
Funeral services for Jessie B. Stephens, age 84 of Wadley, will be held 1:00 PM Friday, December 16, 2011, from Quattlebaum Funeral Chapel with Rev. Wade Price and Rev. Don Quick officiating. Burial to follow in the Mt. Zion Christian Church Cemetery with Quattlebaum Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
The family will receive friends from 5:00 pm to 8:00 pm on Thursday, December 15, 2011 at the funeral home.
Pallbearers will be Gerry Burke, Darryl Harmon, David Harmon, Derrell Kirby, Waymon Hodges and Jerrell Hodges.
Mr. Stephens died Tuesday, December 13, 2011, at Bethany House in Auburn, Al. He is survived by two daughters; Shirleen (Joel) Knowles of Roanoke, Janeen (Marc) Amason of Kennesaw, GA, one son Randy (Wanda) Stephens of McCalla; one sister Lenita Harlin of Roanoke, five grandchildren, and two great grandchildren.
Mr. Stephens was born March 15, 1927, the son of Walter B. and Annie Ruth Littlefield Stephens in Randolph County, AL. He attended Mt. Zion Congregational Christian Church and served in the United States Army during the Korean War. Mr. Stephens was preceded in death by his wife, Cornelia (Anita) Bridges Stephens; parents, two sisters Ava Stephens and Emily Mitchum.
