Obituary of Gloria Burks
Memorial services for Gloria Burks, age 72, of Roanoke will be held on Saturday, May 15, 2021, at 3:00 PM at Rock Mills Baptist Church with Bro. Jamie Taylor officiating. All family and friends are welcome to attend.
Mrs. Burks passed away Friday, April 30, 2021, at her residence.
Survivors include her husband, Billy Ray Burks of Roanoke; one daughter, Lori Smith (James Pike) of Roanoke; one son, Mike Burks (Becky) of Five Points; seven grandchildren; three sisters, Carol Gilham (Jimmy), Sherry Towler (Keith), and Marcie McCarley (Tracy), all of Roanoke; one brother, Herbie Burgess (Linda) of Roanoke; and many other friends and family.
A Roanoke residence, Mrs. Burks was born on December 2, 1948, the daughter of Eddie and Ruby Claython Turner Davis. She was a member of Rock Mills Baptist Church and was a homemaker. Mrs. Burks was preceded in death by her parents; brother, Ted Davis; nephew, Tommy White; and her grandparents.
A memorial service will be held at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the stroke or Alzheimer’s association of one’s choosing.
