Obituary of Mary Kathryn Vinson
Funeral services for Mary Kathryn Vinson, age 86, of Roanoke, will be held Tuesday, June 1, 2021, at 2:00 pm at Quattlebaum Funeral Chapel with Rev. Bill Puckett officiating. Burial will follow at Randolph Memory Gardens.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 5:00 to 8:00 pm on Monday, May 31st.
Mrs. Vinson passed away on Saturday, May 29, 2021, at her home.
Survivors include children, Pamela Wooley of Valley, Charlotte Puckett of Roanoke, Jennifer Kirby (Tim) of Roanoke, Patsy Knight (Lee) of Wadley, Terry Puckett of Roanoke, Stanley Vinson of Fayetteville, Ga., Charlotte Vinson of Rome, Ga., Glenn Vinson (Lynn) of Roanoke, Sylvia McConnell (Lee) of Roanoke, Tammy Culbertson (Greg) of Roanoke, Chris Vinson (Maggie) of Rome, Ga.; one sister, Margaret Weathers of Roanoke; 33 grandchildren, 62 great-grandchildren and six great-great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be Timothy Smith, Matthew Cummings, Michael Puckett, Kevin Puckett, Frank Wilkerson, Allen Puckett, Hayden Wilkerson and Chandler Puckett.
An Alabama native, Mrs. Vinson was born November 24, 1934, the daughter of James Pemiliton and Myrtis Brown Mitchell. She was a member of Mt. Grove Baptist Church and had worked in the textile industry. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Tom Vinson; children, Peggy Sue Puckett and Stephen Puckett; grandson, Phillip Morris; great-grandson, Brandon Rushton; sisters, Sara Knight, Joyce Denham and Barbara McDow.
